Welcome Jazz Lifers
THE ANATOMY OF A LIVING ORGANISM
Jazz is not a museum piece; it is a respiratory process. It breathes in the people, the space, and the era, then exhales them as art. As the world shifts, the music evolves. Our iconography is the blueprint of that evolution.
THE WHOLE: World Inclusion Collective
The outer ring is our boundary-less horizon. It represents the World Inclusion Collective: the belief that Jazz is no longer a localized sound, but a global diaspora. From South Africa to the South side of Chicago, this circle encompasses the entire ecosystem of the genre. It is the vessel for the "living organism”.
THE PILLARS: Foundation & Structure
At the center stand the 3 Pillars. These are the rigid foundations of our craft: Music, Journalism, and Storytelling. Without structure, there is no rebellion. These pillars provide the support necessary for the genre to push forward without losing its soul.
THE COMMUNITY: The Human Element
Capping the pillars is the Community. These are the musicians, the journalists, and the enthusiasts. They are the "spores" of the jazz lifeform, pollinating the 21st century. They represent the human connection that turns a vibration into a movement.
THE INSTRUMENT: The Voice of the Diaspora
When these elements align, they form the Instrument. This is the physical and metaphorical tool of our expression. It is the mechanism through which we take the saturated potential of the past and vent it into the inspiration of the future.
Jazz Worldwide is the exploration of the spaces between the notes, the borders between nations, and the people who refuse to let the music stand still.
EVERYTHING IS JAZZ. WE ARE THE INSTRUMENT.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
GRAMMY-Nominated Producer and SiriusXM Host Mark Ruffin Unveils “Jazz Worldwide” :
A New Global Frontier for the Living Organism of Jazz
CHICAGO, IL — During the prestigious International Jazz Week in Chicago, Mark Ruffin
(2x Emmy Award Winner, GRAMMY Awards Nominee, Jazz Griot, and the celebrated national host of SiriusXM’s Real Jazz) officially announced the launch of Jazz Worldwide.
More than a production company or media consortium, Jazz Worldwide is a boundary-breaking community designed to unite musicians, journalists, and enthusiasts of all generations. The initiative seeks to move beyond the traditional American jazz landscape to explore the genre’s rapid evolution across the global diaspora.
“Jazz is a living organism,” says Ruffin. “It absorbs the people and the time it is in. The people absorb it, then throw it back out as art. As the times change, so do the people, and so does the music. From the Southside of Chicago to South Africa and beyond, jazz is reflecting the space it occupies. My mission with Jazz Worldwide is to explore those differences and grow this organism alongside a new, global audience.”
Bridging the Diaspora: From Chicago to the World
Ruffin’s vision for Jazz Worldwide stems from a dual observation: the saturation of jazz’s cultural influence in America and the explosive, rebellious energy of jazz among young people globally. As the genre surpasses its hundred-year milestone, it has morphed into distinct regional identities - from the specific "thing" in Rio and San Juan to the unique textures of Norwegian and South African jazz.
Jazz Worldwide is dedicated to the "virality" of this lifeform, capturing the stories of legends that spread like spores and the 21st-century youth who are pollinating their world with jazz to clear cultural boundaries.
Digital Success and Future Projects
The launch follows the meteoric success of My Jazz Life, the flagship publication of Jazz Worldwide. On the award-winning storytelling platform Substack, the newsletter recently reached a peak of #14 on the Substack “Top Rising in Music” charts.
Building on this momentum, Jazz Worldwide is introducing:
Our Jazz Life: A new connected-community expansion of the publication, Our Jazz Life expands into livestreams, events, bonus content, and wearable products to immerse and engage our followers.
The Terry Callier Project: A major production currently in development, following Ruffin’s contribution of liner notes for the legendary artist’s posthumous release.
